Melissa Taylor was one of UEA Health and Social Care Partner’s Scholarship Awards recipients, leading on their project The 7-Day Decision Point Model for Multidisciplinary Teams Supporting Patients with Femoral Fracture.

The Fragility Fracture Network (FFN) was created in Europe in 2011 to address the growing burden of fragility fracture patients to health care systems and societies.

In 2012 the FFN hosted the first international congress addressing the full pathway of care for fragility fracture patients. Annual congresses have been held since that time disseminating research and clinical practice improvements across pillars of care that include perioperative care, surgical treatment, rehabilitation, secondary prevention, and policy change.

The congress provides a unique platform for interaction with leading Orthopaedic Surgeons, Rheumatologists, Anaesthesiologists, Radiologists, Geriatricians, Rehabilitation Experts, Osteoporosis Experts, Primary Care Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health Professionals from all over the world.

Melissa has been accepted to deliver an oral presentation titled “Early Occupational Therapy and Integrated Physiotherapy Approaches Improve Outcomes After Hip Fracture Surgery”.

The FFN Regional Congress will take place on 10-12th October in Istanbul, Turkey, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Sisli.

Melissa is a Specialist Occupational Therapist and Orthopaedic Therapy Team Leader at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
