Want to help shape life story work for teens in care?

Hi, my name is Dr Simon P Hammond. I am based at the University of East Anglia (UEA). I am leading a team of researchers trying to find out how to best support young people 12–18-year-oldsto think about their identity and stories. The project is called LIMITLESS II and has been approved by School of Education and Lifelong Learning Research Ethics Committee at UEA.

We are looking for people (social workers, carers and young people aged 12-18- years-old) who are interested in talking to us about their views on how best to help teens in care to think about their identity and stories.

If you decide that you want to take part, we will ask you to fill in a brief questionnaire and then we would like you to share your views about how young people in care think about their identity and stories. There are no right or wrong answers. If you don’t want to talk about something, that’s ok. You can stop talking to us at any time.

For carers and young people, we may ask a 16–25-year-old Care Leaver to help us ask you questions. You do not have to agree to this, it is your choice. No one will be upset at your decision.

When we write up our research, we will change your name, so no one knows what you said. After you complete the research, we will email you a £20 gift voucher to thank you for your time.

If this sounds like something you are interested in, or you have any questions, please email me s.hammond@uea.ac.uk and I will send you some more information about this opportunity and we can have a chat if that helps before you decide.

Thank you for your time.

Best wishes,

Simon
