Dr Simon P Hammond (EDU), Gabriel Markovich (MED) and Dr Kimberley J Bartholomew (EDU) have recently published the “Bee Smart Media Literacy Programme: Improving the media literacy of care leavers” report.

Commissioned by the UK Government’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and working in partnerships with Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Internet Matters, the UEA team evaluated a media literacy programme aiming to enhance media literacy among care leavers through a peer-to-peer delivery system, addressing the unique challenges they face online.

The full evaluation report, can be found via the following link Bee Smart Media Literacy Programme report | Internet Matters

In this report the UEA team conclude “Improving care media literacy can no longer be treated as a one and done’. A sustained effort is needed that reflects the complexities and persistent challenges faced by care leavers in our connected world.”
